The NPA is urging members to take part in a survey to help it gain a better understanding of the current supply chain turmoil to support its lobbying efforts with government and the supply chain.
The NPA has been discussing the impact and possible solutions for both short and long term.
The survey seeks to understand the nature of contracts and how many producers have been given notice, as well as the number of pigs that will be without a market when notice periods run out.
You can access the survey here.
- The survey closes on August 9.
It should only take five minutes to complete and you can either complete it anonymously or provide your business name. Either way, all responses will be treated entirely confidentially.
NPA chief executive Lizzie Wilson said: “We are working on various fronts to address the short-term situation and find long-term solutions in order to avoid a repeat.
“Thank you to everyone who has responded, so far. We need to hear from as many producers as possible to provide a clear picture of what is happening on the ground. This will provide the evidence we need to help get results from our conversations with the supply chain and government.
“The survey has been designed to be quick and easy to fill in – so, if you have a few spare minutes, please give it a go a now! Your support is much appreciated.”
