There is still time – just – to apply for a place on AHDB’s Pork Sector Council. The levy body is seeking a new member for the council, ideally with with experience of pig production.
The closing date for applications is September 12, with interviews due to take place between September 15 and 22.
Applications from those with working knowledge of pig breeding and rearing are particularly encouraged to support the council chair, Glen Nimmo, in the effective delivery of the sector council’s core responsibilities, including levy payer engagement, advising what work should be funded for the sector and determining the levy rate.
Sector Council Members play a crucial role in deciding what work should be commissioned for their sector and ensuring there is effective engagement between levy payers and AHDB.
Appointments are for an initial three-year term from November 2025 and require a commitment of up to two days per month per year, including attendance at sector council meetings.
