We’re recruiting for a an Assistant Pig (Boar) Farm ManagerĀ in Lincolnshire, LN7.

About the role:
As an Assistant Boar Stud Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Farm Manager across all areas of our brand new, state-of-the-art boar stud and laboratory facility.
Working as part of the management team, you will assist in the day-to-day operation of the stud and laboratory, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, biosecurity, health and safety, hygiene, quality assurance and audit compliance are maintained at all times.
You will take an active role in the care and management of boars, the production and supply of high-quality genetic material, and supporting laboratory processes that contribute to efficient and sustainable pig farming.
This is a hands-on position requiring collaboration across all aspects of the operation, helping to drive performance, continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Boar Stud Manager and support at audits and vet visits
Collect genetic material from boars in accordance with established protocols
Support the production of high-quality breeding material for artificial insemination
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the collection area
Move pigs between housing units and the collection yard
Monitor animal behaviour and welfare throughout the process
Maintain accurate records of collections and observations
Maintain a high level of biosecurity and cleanliness across all areas of the farm
On-farm laboratory work
About You:
Experience working with pigs and a good understanding of animal welfare standards and practices.
Confidence working around large animals.
Good physical fitness.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Commitment to growth, both personal and the farm’s.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to lead by example, support colleagues, and assist with the day-to-day management of the boar stud and laboratory operation, driving high standards across the farm.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Salary range: Ā£34,000 – Ā£36,000 DOE

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday (39 hours), with one weekend a month on a rota system (flexibility required).
