Pig farmers are being encouraged to take part in important surveys seeking to gather information on grants for mental health and wellbeing and the use of rodenticides.
Mental health support
Defra is tripling previous funding for farmer mental health and wellbeing support, with £1.5 million available over three years from this summer. This funding will support targeted interventions to strengthen personal and business resilience in the agricultural sector.
To help Defra understand the level of interest in the Farmer Welfare Grant, it is seeking farmer views through a pre-market engagement survey.
All questions are optional, and responses will not be linked to any application. The survey includes an opportunity to share feedback on the grant.
It will close at the end of Tuesday 16th June.
£20 Rodenticide Use Survey
Think Wildlife is carrying out its latest Knowledge, Attitudes and Practice survey to better understand how professional-use rodenticides are being used in real farming situations today.
Farmers’ experiences and opinions will directly help shape future guidance and industry decisions through the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU).
The 20-minute survey, which includes a £20 ‘thank you’ payment, aims to capture a broad range of farmers/staff who apply professional-use anticoagulant rodenticides. However, the research currently has under-representation from pig and poultry farmers.
The survey can is anonymous, with responses only visible to Grounded Research. No preparation is needed.
