Karro supports Community Kitchen

Employees of the Malton-based Karro Food Limited are going to be volunteering at their local Community Kitchen on Christmas Day to provide meals for vulnerable people in the local area.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the company is unable to host its traditional on-site meal for vulnerable members of the community.  Instead, seven volunteers from the company and six of their friends and family will help at the Malton and Norton Community Kitchen, both cooking and delivering the Christmas Day meals.

Karro has also helped provide the food for the meals and wrapped 60 boxes for meals to be delivered in, including a hand-written card from a member of the team, to help bring some festive cheer to the recipients.

The Malton and Norton Community Kitchen is dedicated to tackling hunger, poverty and social isolation in the local community, providing support for its most vulnerable members, especially over the Christmas period which is a difficult time for many.

“The work that the Malton and Norton Community Kitchen is doing to support those in need is absolutely vital, especially during what has been a very tough year. If this year has taught us anything, it is the importance of our community, family and friends,” said Cathy Lafferty, human resources director at Karro Food Limited. “We’re very proud to be supporting this great initiative and providing vulnerable people with a delicious meal on Christmas Day.”
