We are recruiting for an Indoor Pig Stockperson for a farm in Somerset, BA6.
The role involves working within the finishing department, looking after the younger pigs, from 6kg up to 110kg on their 400-sow farrow-to-finish unit.
Job description:
- Checking the pigs and monitoring their progress
- Weighing, moving and cleaning out pigs
- Power washing after each move
- Cover work in the farrowing herd and the serving
- Operating a dry feed system
- Mixing feed using locally sourced ingredients
Person specifications:
- Good pig husbandry skills
- Strong stockmanship skills
- Commitment to maintaining high welfare standards
- Exceptional attention to detail
- A drive to achieve optimal results
Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE
Hours: 07:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday and 07:00 – 11:00 on alternate weekends.
