Debbie Wilson will be stepping down as chairwoman of Ladies in Pigs (LIPs) at the end of March, after eight years in the role.
Following a ‘robust review’ of LIPs’ current position and and what the structure looks like going forward, the organisation has posted a recruitment advert for a new role, Event Coordinator, for someone to take on the administrative tasks associated with running the organisation. There will be more structural changes announced, in due course, LIPs said.
Debbie said: “It has been my absolute pleasure to serve as chairwoman for the past eight years. We have made great strides in that time; including having a fully functioning and highly regarded educational programme across the UK for primary, secondary and college age students, which is all mapped to the different curriculum.
“There have also been some exciting resources added to LIPs’ arsenal, including primary-aged online games to enhance the hands-on experience, and the careers activity, which has received acclaim from industry, educators and students – as a game changer in people knowing about the vast array of careers in the food and farming sector”
“I felt it was time to move on, and we have recruited a number of young, enthusiastic members who have some exciting ideas on how we can move forward once again. Thank you to everyone that I have met over my tenure, it has been a blast!”
Meanwhile, LIPs stressed that It was ‘business as usual’ as it enters its 35th year of operations, with the diary packed with lots of educational and promotional events across the UK.
