Vicky and Rachel Morgan, from the well-known East Yorkshire pig farming family, are embarking on a gruelling endurance challenge to support a young sufferer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
Today, Thursday, August 28, they are due to set off on a 7.5-mile paddleboard trip, followed the next day by a 50-mile mountain bike ride and concluding, for good measure, with a marathon on day three.
The have previously raised money for DMD by undertaking hard challenges, but this year’s ‘Iron Will’ challenge will raise money specifically for the William Taylor Fund.
“Will Taylor is a very special young man to us who was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy in June 2014 at the age of four,” Rachel said.
“Will has just turned 16 and will soon start the process of learning to drive in an adapted vehicle.”
Rachel continued: “Vicky and I have both got children who have just passed/learning to drive and we know how much the freedom means to them. We would love to help give that opportunity to Will by raising lots of money to support the costly adaptations that will be required for him to drive independently.”
