Pilgrim’s UK has announced it is looking to employ 90 new staff members to work across a range of departments at its Redruth site.

Pilgrim’s, which has also announced the proposed closure of its major Ashton site, is increasing the size of the team at Redruth team to meet growing demand across its wide range of new and existing product lines. A large number of roles in operations are available at the Cornish plant, as well as positions in quality assurance, product development and engineering.

Vacancies include full-time roles in the production team at various levels, from skilled operative, operators and machine setters to process leaders. The company is also looking to appoint administration assistants, stock controllers, OPEX facilitators, new product development (NPD) technicians and planners.

Applicants do not need experience for some of the roles and many require an immediate start. Full training will be provided alongside an attendance bonus scheme.

Andrew Hancock, Redruth Site Director at Pilgrim’s UK, said: “Our dedicated teams have long been creating high-quality products that our customers love. The addition of new product lines means that we’re now in the position to create more jobs for ambitious, driven people looking for a new challenge in Redruth.

“Our people sit at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to providing our latest recruits with the support and opportunities they need to develop their skillsets, giving them the foundations to enjoy a long and successful career in the industry.”

The site on Wilson Way Industrial Estate has been operating for more than thirty years and serves customers, including major retailers and foodservice businesses up and down the country with a range of high-quality bacon and gammon products.

Pilgrim’s UK employs 5,000 people across its sites in the UK. It offers employees competitive rates of pay and flexible working hours, as well as other benefits including a bonus scheme, discount reward card, pension scheme and regular team events
