Pigs Tomorrow returns – and it’s free for levy payers

The popular Pigs Tomorrow conference will return in 2025, with a packed agenda and plenty of opportunities for networking and socialising.

Organised by Pig World and AHDB, the conference will take place in Leicestershire in May. This will be the fourth conference we have staged since the first in 2017, and in a big change to previous years, we have made the whole two-day event free to producer levy payers. You can start to apply for tickets now.

We are also delighted to announce that Ceva Animal Health will, once again, be our principal sponsor.

The programme

The event will bring together expert speakers from the UK and beyond to discuss the hot topics that matter to the pig sector, with plenty of opportunity for delegate participation.

The programme will commence with the global outlook, including a panel discussion on what the trends mean for the UK.

Day one will also feature an in-depth look at how the carbon and sustainability agendas are shaping pig production around the world and, again, what learnings we can take for the domestic pig sector.

There will a session on ‘Brand Britain’ and how we can make best use of it at home and abroad, before the day concludes with a panel discussion featuring key figures from across the supply chain looking into the big issues of today and beyond.

Day two will feature a session delving into one of the biggest challenges facing the UK pig sector – attracting, retaining and looking after quality staff. Our Young Guns panel, featuring the pig farmers of the future, will return to explore the opportunities and barriers facing aspiring pig producers.

There will also be a session on another hot industry topic – the transition away from conventional indoor farrowing systems to flexible farrowing pens. We will look at what we have learned so far and what needs to happen to ensure the transition is manageable and workable.

We will announce speakers over the coming weeks and months.

Delegate feedback

The 2023 event received excellent feedback, with 91% of delegates who responded to a survey giving it a rating of 4/5 or 5/5. Here are just some of the comments we received:

  • “Great event for networking, good turnout from attendees and from exhibitors. Some interesting and useful presentations.”
  • “Good range of speakers, good atmosphere and overall excellent event.”
  • “Very well organised and a good flow, from overview to UK outlook and news.”
  • “Fantastic!”
  • “Great event!”

Exhibition stands

As at previous events, there will be a lively exhibition area, with Farmex, Hingerose, Huvepharma, Lallemand, Neogen and Phileo confirmed so far, in addition to our sponsors – Ceva Animal Health (principal sponsor), Boehringer Ingelheim, Elanco, ForFarmers, MSD and Zoetis.

There will be plenty of networking opportunities throughout the two days, including a gala dinner with entertainment at the end of day one.
