Leading manufacturer of livestock nutrition, Harbro has expanded its monogastric team as part of a group investment to further support farmers across the UK
The expanded monogastric team was unveiled at the Pig & Poultry Fair. One notable appointment is Dr Sian Nichols who takes on the role of UK pig nutritionist. In this role, she will be working with customers to provide nutritional support, with the objective of driving improvements in pig performance to maximise the profitability of their production systems.
Alongside a focus on performance, Dr Nichols is managing a project to improve sow gut health, which is key to driving health in the whole production system.
David Stephenson, head of pig and poultry at Harbro, said: “I’m delighted to be heading this new team, it will allow us to offer our existing and future customers an enhanced service, which is based on creating a partnership that aims to give the necessary support required for higher performance and profitability on-farm.
“The team has been formed to ensure we can offer an integrated approach that is supported with both technical and practical expertise.”
