Cranswick has entered into a strategic partnership with The Jolly Hog, best known for its award-winning high-welfare sausage range.
The partnership includes investment from Cranswick, which will provide the ‘expertise, capacity and further investment’ to scale the brand nationally.
Founded by brothers Olly, Max and Josh in 2007, The Jolly Hog has established itself as a ‘fast-growing challenger brand built on exceptional flavour, premium quality and a commitment to higher welfare British pork’. The brothers will continue to lead the business, promising that the same values and vision will remain at the heart of the brand. The Jolly Hog business remains independently run from the same team and HQ based in Bristol.
As part of the partnership, Cranswick will become The Jolly Hog’s long-term manufacturing partner, creating, the cpmpanies said, ‘a stronger platform for growth through increased capacity, greater supply security and access to world-class technical expertise’.
This will support the continued expansion of The Jolly Hog’s award-winning core product range, helping the business meet growing demand and increase availability across the retail market.
The partnership will also accelerate the brand’s ambitious innovation plans, enabling new products to be developed and launched more quickly. The Jolly Hog’s commitment to sourcing 100% British, Outdoor Bred and RSPCA Assured pork remains unchanged, with products continuing to be made using pork from trusted accredited farms.
Major milestone
Olly, Max and Josh Kohn, founders of The Jolly Hog said: ‘”This marks a major milestone for our business. With Cranswick alongside us, we have the investment, expertise and manufacturing capability to scale faster without compromising on the quality, flavour or values that define our brand.
“We’re lucky to say we’ve seen growing retailer interest in stocking our range and this partnership ensures we can meet that demand whilst maintaining the standards we’re known for. The business remains founder-led, our commitment to higher welfare British pork remains unchanged and we’re incredibly excited about what comes next for our retail partners and consumers.”
The partnership continues Cranswick’s ongoing investment across the supply chain, including into manufacturing.
Jim Brisby, Cranswick’s chief commercial officer, said: “The Jolly Hog is a brand with a clear purpose, a loyal following and a reputation for delivering exceptional products.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Olly, Max and Josh at such a pivotal moment in their journey and will support the team to deliver their exciting and ambitious growth plans to unlock the full potential of The Jolly Hog.”
