Cargill Animal Nutrition UK has introduced its Triple S soya as a replacement for all soya sources in its pre-starter and starter pig and poultry diets.
UK commercial director, Norman Downey, said: “Triple S soya is part of Cargill’s sustainability strategy. It has the same nutritional value as the previously used soya, so no reformulation is required.”
Reflecting the sustainably sourced and supplied origins of the soya used, Triple S is sourced from areas in Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay that are guaranteed deforestation-free since 2008.
Mr Downey said: “Importantly the soya in Triple S is also fully traceable to individual farms so the supply chain, including feed compounders and retailers, know exactly where is comes from. Also, its production is part of farmer-focused sustainability programmes.
“Each producer is independently audited and supported with agronomy advice and continuous improvement goals. Farmers must meet social, economic and environmental targets, set out under the Triple S production guidelines.”
Triple S soya meets the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC) requirements for sustainably sourced soya. It is also recognised by UK retailers as a step towards more sustainable sourcing of animal feed and increasing sustainability in the supply chain.
