AHDB is looking to recruit new members of its Pork Sector Council, with experience in the industry, including, ideally, in indoor production.
Sector Council members play a crucial role in deciding what work should be commissioned for their sector and ensuring there is effective engagement between levy payers and AHDB.
Appointments are for an initial three-year term from December 2026 and require up to two days per month of commitment per year, including attendance at sector council meetings.
Applications are sought from those with direct insight into any element of levy payer activities. However, to balance experience and knowledge across the Pork Sector Council, AHDB is particularly seeking applications from those with experience of indoor pig production and/or those with recent insight into how the commercialisation of pork consumer products maximises value for levy payers.
“This may be as part of a large integrated business or as a smaller, independent producer with commercial outlets (either domestically or in overseas markets) for primary or added value pork products,” the advert says.
“You will support the Sector Council Chair in the effective delivery of the sector council’s core responsibilities, including levy payer engagement, advising what work should be funded for the sector and determining the levy rate.”
- The closing date is October 18.
