The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has hired two new members to its export team as part of an increased focus on international trade development.
Richard Gibson has joined as the international trade development manager. His previous role saw him working for the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) in Northern Ireland.
His man aim at AHDB will be to focus on developing exports of pork and other red meats to China and areas in the wider South East Asia region.
Tanveer Parkar has also been brought on board, a processing plant auditor with ten years of experience working in the industry.
He will take the position of AHDB’s new senior market access manager, and will work with red meat processors to offer technical support to ensure compliance with export requirements.

Dr Phil Hadley, AHDB international trade development director, said: “Export activity has been highlighted by red meat and dairy levy payers as a part of AHDB’s work that they highly value and want to see more of.”
