We are recruiting for a Finishing Pig Farm Manager in Hampshire, SP6.
This unit was recently acquired and is now part of a family-run business with the vision and resources to invest significantly in its facilities and employees. They offer a comprehensive career development pathway for applicants seeking growth and advancement opportunities.
The pig unit is a 6500-place finishing site, from 18 kilos to finishing weight.
They are specifically looking for someone who can run the day-to-day management of the unit.
Main duties:
Manage all full-time staff on the unit
Responsible for the condition of livestock on the unit – feeding, moving, serving, treating, vaccinating and handling the pigs
Ensure that animal welfare is in accordance with company standards
Ensure that all equipment/farm machinery is used safely and remains in good condition at all times
Have overall site responsibility
Manage and complete weekly paperwork and keep records up to date at all times
Work with your team to meet designated performance targets, managing the performance of staff and pig production to bring about the best results
Candidate specifications:
Experience with finishing and pig unit management
The ability to prioritise and complete tasks fully with strong attention to detail is a must
You must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to exceed expectations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
Driving license
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000+ DOE
