Wold Farms Ltd Rearing & Finishing have farms located in Northumberland / Scottish Borders. We are part of industry leading food producer Cranswick plc and due to business expansion, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Fields Person to join the busy Wold Farms team.
This position will be working within the existing team ensuring smooth running of pig health, welfare & movements across the farming business.
Main Duties:
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with our contract growers and finishers.
- Assisting with stock movements and advising on pig selection for slaughter ensuring they meet the target weight and quality.
- Ensuring the day-to-day health of livestock is in line with RSPCA assurance standards and Company policy, advising when required.
- Communication with the production team on a regular basis to ensure smooth running of all operations.
You will need:
- Experience with handling livestock and a keen interest in the pig industry and animal welfare is essential for this role.
- Ability to prioritise and complete tasks fully with strong attention to detail is a must.
- The ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
- You must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to exceed expectations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Full UK Driving licence as travel between our farm locations is required.
Pay and benefits:
- Full-time, permanent position available / Part time may be considered if not working with other pigs.
