Role Overview

Grow-Finish Production Manager forms part of the Riverbend Pork Group production management team to support, develop, maintain and oversee all group and contract grower farms across Queensland. This role must be delivered in keeping with the vision, strategy and operational requirements of Riverbend Pork Group as well as adherence to all legal and governing body regulations and guidance.

Main Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the Group’s Queensland grow-finish production units.
  • Manage the teams for the company farms and lease farms.
  • Manage Contract Growers.
  • Manage and arrange weekly transport bookings with the Marketing Manager.
  • Arrange the optimal placement of growers onto company and contract farms.
  • Manage the incoming, outgoing, and internal flow/logistics requirements of this group of farms (operating at approx. 90,000 wean/grow/finishers).
  • Report to and liaise with the Chief Operating Officer regarding farm operations, staff operations, and site works delivery.
  • Manage staff roster to ensure sufficient coverage to meet operational requirements.
  • Manage, deliver and report on multiple site APIQ, QA, EMP and WHS requirements in line with Group requirements.
  • Manage all operational aspects of multiple sites including equipment maintenance and production in line with Group policies and requirements.

Skills & Experience: 

  • Proven experience in similar role.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry and legislative guidelines.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a positive attitude.
  • Experienced and proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level planning, budgeting, and reporting experience.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Ability to maintain flexible working hours and be available for frequent travel.
  • Create a safe and inclusive working environment.
  • Possess a clean and unrestricted C-Class Drivers Licence.
  • Full Australian working visa (sponsorship available).
